Introduction
As a kid of a college football coach, we moved almost every year when I was young. It made me resilient, optimistic, and flexible. I am a ridiculously buoyant person with a side of sarcasm. I love being part of a team, and I need to feel like I’m contributing in an important way. My mind is naturally strategic, and I like to see the whole picture before I start my work.

I’ve been in marketing communications for 20 years, and I absolutely love it. I have an unusual breadth of experience, including SEO-driven social media and web writing, media relations, corporate and crisis communications. I’ve worked in healthcare marketing, consumer products, business-to-business, as well as brand management.
I have a sign in my office that says:
I am silently correcting your grammar,
and it’s true, but I try not to say any of it aloud. I just enjoy writing web pages, blogs, video scripts, social posts, press releases and all kinds of stories. I have a talent and passion for it. I once spent a vacation editing a “beach read” because I wanted to finish the story (it was good), but the writing had so many errors I couldn’t help myself.
So yeah, I have exceptional skills and attention to detail, not to brag. I have a talent for communicating and building influential relationships internally as well as externally at all levels.
As much as I love to dive into marketing a brand or a company, I strategically start with the end in mind. I know that good creative solutions come from first examining business goals. I thrive in diverse, fast-paced environments and work with technical, medical, artistic, and upper management teams with equal ease.
I know that understanding audiences is as important as the critical listening necessary to determine where a company wants to take its message. Due to my ability to use my left AND right brain, I have been hand-picked numerous times for critical operational projects (while continuing my marketing communications role). Again, not to brag.
I am also a performer at The Black Box Improv Theater, which is all about thinking on your feet and saying "YES, and"...
